1. About & Eligibility

The Shannon Health & Technology Scholarship Award recognizes undergraduate students (Juniors and Seniors) who demonstrate a strong interest in health fields and/or technology, a track record of community engagement, and evidence of leadership.

2. Personal Statement

Requirement: Submit a statement (max 6,000 characters) describing your goals in medicine/tech and your leadership impact.

How to Submit: Email to [email protected] with the subject: "[Your Last Name] – Shannon Scholarship Application."

3. Full Instructions for Recommenders

Important: Letters must be submitted directly by the recommender. Do not give the letter to the applicant to submit.

Required Letter Types (3 to 5 total):

Required STEM Professor: Academic engagement and promise in STEM.

Required Research/Tech Mentor: A supervisor for lab or tech-focused work.

Required Community Org: Representative from a nonprofit or volunteer program.

What Letters Should Address:

  • Professional relationship and duration.
  • Specific examples of ability in health/technology.
  • Evidence of community involvement and leadership.
  • Character, work ethic, and potential for impact.

  • Format: Signed/dated PDF, 1–2 pages long.

  • Match Rule: Include applicant's full name in the subject and letter opening.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome by June 30.

Mission:

The mission of The Elite Healing Hands Committee in memory of Professor Samuel Rahbar; a chapter of the Elite Entrepreneur Organization, is to provide mentorship and guidance for the young professionals with a passion for healthcare.
Our vision is to create a network of health care providers (doctors, dentists, pharmacists, psychologists, etc) within the community that will dedicate their expertise to help motivated students apply, get accepted to and succeed in their respective professional schools. Our community holds some of the groundbreaking leaders of the field and we hope to make such individuals more accessible to our youth.
Our goal is holding seminars, social gatherings and Q&A panels where such esteemed professionals can share their experiences and insight to enlighten and encourage our younger generation to take leadership roles in healthcare.
